Chandler Lodge Foundation request

Today we received a the following request and wanted to share it with the community. Please let us know your thoughts about this ministry. If you would like to contact them their information is listed below.

Dear Friend:

We own and operate Chandler Lodge, a non-profit North Hollywood facility for men recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction, and we are seeking financial help from area churches so that we can maintain and expand our program for homeless residents and others who cannot afford to pay for our services. Additionally, we invite you to refer to us for help any member of your congregation newly recovering from alcoholism. Just call us at the above telephone number.

Chandler Lodge Foundation opened in 1963; we’ve based our program on the 12-step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous as we provide a sanctuary for newly sober men trying to adjust to life without mind-altering chemicals. We provide room and board and emotional support and also maintain a meeting hall for 32 different 12-step programs a week.

Today’s crime is largely drug or alcohol-related; by working hard to help addicts and alcoholics get sober we are helping to reduce crime, making the community both safer and healthier for those who live and work here. AA's spiritual principles are recognized by many as an effective method of getting sober and changing one's life.

We think that support for Chandler Lodge is aligned with your individual church goals because we help clients stop drinking and adopt a productive way of living. As a 501(c)3 organization, we do guarantee all contributions are tax-deductible using federal tax ID #95-2242769. Since you are a neighbor, we welcome your visit to the lodge for a first-hand look at our program.

Cordially,

Glenn Kulik,

President, Board of Directors
